Malinois

Breed History:

The Belgian Malinois is , as its name suggests, originally from Belgium. It is one of 4 different varieties of Belgian Sheepdog and has a short coat of varying shades of fawn to mahogany, quite often with black overlay and a dark facial mask. The other varieties are the Tervuren (long haired with similar coloring to the Malinois), Groenendal (long haired black) and Lakenois (wire coat). Originally used as a herding dog, the Malinois quickly proved itself to be a good military, police and protection sport dog due to its high drives, athletic abilities and highly trainable natures. Today Malinois can be seen as the breed of choice for French Ring Sport, and are also used in everything from herding to SAR (Search and Rescue) to Agility, Disc Dog and Flyball.

Here are pictures and information regarding our Malinois:

Requin Ombres Valeureux – “Q” is 5 this year and we hope to have a litter from her by Xago. Xago is hip certified and currently at Ring II. If you are interested in reserving a puppy we are now taking deposits of $200.00 Can. which will be applied to the total price of $750.00 Can. Q’s hips are OFA Excellent and the vet said he has never seen such tight elbows! Q is currently working at the Ring II level and we hope to continue on with her second leg of Ring II and maybe even Ring III this year. Q also participated in the Prairie Sharks herding clinic and proved to have beautiful herding style. Like all of our dogs, these puppies will be fully guaranteed (See Animals Available).
