Iron Sun Horses
Iron Sun Horses
specializes in rare breeds and currently has available:

For
half lease: “Smoke” Approx. 15 HH grulla Paso Fino gelding born
in ‘91. Has parade experience and knows the basics. Western or Dressage, but
not the world’s best jumper. Received 3rd place in western pleasure
and 2nd place in trail at the 2004, 1st annual Canadian
Curly Horse Show (as a straight). Would stay at our facility unless mutually
agreed upon. $75.00 per month entitles 3 days use per week.

For
sale?: 2005 Curly foal planned for
“Chanti” Approx. 14.3 HH dark brown
Curly mare born in ‘94. Bred to “Jordan” of Bergen Ranch. Chanti has always
been a good ambassador for the breed at rare breed events, the Calgary Stampede
and Aggie Days and recently placed 1st in her halter class, and 1st
in western pleasure at the 2004, 1st annual Canadian Curly Horse
show. We may offer this foal for sale. Her foals should have potential for
reining, dressage, cattle work, jumping and more depending on what she is bred
to as Chanti herself is quite versatile. Foal will be registered with the ICHO
(International Curly Horse Organization)

Meet
our newest Curly addition, Gallant Gunner. Sorrel Curly stud born in 2003.
Gunner placed 3rd in his halter class at the 2004, 1st
annual Canadian Curly Horse show. He also did well in the Curly booth at the
Calgary Stampede this year. We are hoping Gunner will mature into a fine
breeding stallion and competition horse. Stay tuned for more news.
By
far our “biggest” star is our Shire mare Maris. With her temperament and
movement we are hoping for big things (no pun intended!) for this horse. She
will be in training under saddle this year and then we hope to get some
warmblood and pure Shire babies from her. Stay tuned.

Iron
Sun Horses also offers riding lessons, training (we train you to train your
horse),
and clinics and camps throughout the year. We are currently looking
for
riders and horses to join our court:
Medieval
Manor will be a performance group consisting of dogs and horses
(with
the emphasis being on rare breeds), and people from the ages of 10 and
up
who love working with animals. Anyone with additional experience in
music,
dance, trick riding, vaulting, gymnastics or other unique skills will
have
a better chance of securing a spot with this group, as we are limiting our
numbers
to 10 to start. It will be non-profit and our goal will be to perform in
parades,
at the Calgary Stampede, Spruce Meadows and other such venues.
Training
will be at least 2 times a week and quarterly training and membership
fees
will be charged to help pay expenses.
